It Was the Largest Jubilee to Date (Echo Press)

2,500 meals were served at the event, making it the largest jubilee to date. Kevin Hockert, Rotary president, thanks the community for its support of the event. Click here for the Echo Press article.

08.18.05 Meeting Recap

SchoolGreg Huss welcomed Troy Sladek, Principal of St. Mary's School. Troy spoke about the upcoming school year and the challenges with classes being held at the Villard Elementary Academy. These challenges are being met and Troy is optimisic and more enthusiastic than ever. The $6.5 million school building project on Hawthorne will add another 25,000 square feet of educational and office space to its facility and will remodel an existing 25,000 square feet of the school and classrooms. The media and computer lab will expand from 600 square feet to 4,500 square feet, while existing classrooms will expand from 600 to 900 square feet. In addition, the school’s main entrance will be relocated to the east side of the building to improve the safety for everyone entering the building. The St. Mary’s building project should be complete by the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year.

Rotary Serves More Than Pork Chops (Echo Press)

The Alexandria Rotary Club and the Alexandria Fire Department will hold their 40th annual Corn and Pork Chop Jubilee on Wednesday, August 17.

The event will take place at the Alexandria Fire Hall from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the event or from any Rotarian or firefighter. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children.
