The Four-Way Test

  • "Of the things we think, say or do:

    Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Mmmm... Corn

Jubilee

Mitchell Chlian of Forada was one of about 2,550 people who attended Wednesday’s 41st annual Corn and Pork Chop Jubilee, which was deemed a huge success, according to organizers. Chlian attended the event, which is sponsored by the Alexandria Rotary Club and the Alexandria Fire Department, with his uncle and aunt, Shad and Leslie Schmidt of Alexandria. So how much food do 2,550 people consume during an event like this? An estimated 4,600 ears of corn and 3,400 pork chops were enjoyed. [Echo Press]

Nutrition and Chiropractic Care

Nutrition_and_chiropractic_care_2 Following an Alex Rotary lunch of burgers and fries, Sandy Boesen introduced Dr. Kaija Johnson from Alexandria Natural Health Center to talk to the club about nutrition and vitamin counseling.  An interesting note from her presentation is that the supplement industry is unregulated so people need to investigate prior to starting a vitamin supplement program. Dr. Johnson offers a wide variety of chiropractic care, including pediatric care, nutritional counseling, sports and injury rehabilitation, and treatment for spinal pain.

The sign

Pictured below (click the image for a larger version) is the sign at the intersection of Hwy 29S and 27W. Notice the addition to the bottom of the sign. It is much more visible from the highway. Nice job, Lee.Rotarysign
