There was no program at today's Rotary meeting
but plenty of good food, cheer and singing (courtesy of the Jefferson High School Carolers). The Carolers were formed in 1962 and consist of 16 students. This was their final performance for this holiday season.
Jeanne Batesole (President) and Julie Zuehlke (Vice President) both serve on the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Sesquicentennial Association which was formed to recognize, honor and celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the City of Alexandria (it is also Minnesota's 150th anniversary in 2008). Alexandria's anniversary is in June of 2008. At this week's Alexandria Rotary meeting both shared with the club details about the Association and the many activities and events that will celebrate our history.
President of Alexandria Technical College, Kevin Kopischke, joined the Alexandria Rotary Club for a lunch and a discussion about Alexandria Technical College's culture of "embracing, welcoming, and challenging the concepts
of new thinking as we continue to pursue our
vision to be the premier institution of career
preparation and lifelong learning".
The college provides more than 45 programs and offers Associate in Science degrees, Associate in Applied Science degrees, diplomas, and certificates.
ATC has long been committed to excellence. In the 1990’s, the National Center for Research in Vocational Education chose ATC as one of only ten “exemplary” colleges nationwide.
Alexandria Technical College is accredited at the associate degree level by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.
