After a brief meeting at H.Boyd Nelson, Alexandria Rotarians delivered roses to happy recipients around the Greater Alexandria Area.

Junior Achievement is a partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers — all working together to inspire young people to dream big and reach their potential. JA’s hands-on, experiential programs teach the key concepts of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy to young people all over the world. In Alexandria, Jennifer Rugani leads the program and she was at the weekly Alexandria Rotary Club meeting to talk about the positive impact of the program and the financial challenges faced each year in meeting the participant's needs.
Also at today's meeting, Kim Peterson (Viking Coca-Cola) and Keri Mohror (Tastefully Simple) were welcomed as new Rotarians.
Definitive Woman Magazine is a local publication that focuses on issues important to women: family,
business, fitness, fashion, health, nutrition, cooking, lifestyle, decorating, culture and the arts. The magazine's two publishers,
Bryan Boutain and Kerry Olson, were at Rotary today to share how the idea for the magazine was born and the important demographic of women.
It is a free publication but you may have it delivered by mail if you pay the shipping and handling.
Jeff Bartholomew, Executive Director of Alexandria's YMCA, was at the weekly Rotary Club meeting on Thursday (Oct. 2nd) and updated the club on the YMCA and the goal of an approximately 56,000 square foot facility that will feature a variety of program areas to meet the needs of our kids, adults, seniors and families.
Jeff also got to experience a visit from Rose Sale experts, Mr. Hank E. Panke and Mr. Ty Meup. Loosely based on Comedy Central's Reno 911, Mr. Panke and Mr. Meup were in town to kickoff the 2008 Rose Sale campaign. Orders may be placed now ($18 per dozen) and the roses will be delivered or can be picked up on Thursday, October 30th.
