At the August 18 meeting of the Alexandria Rotary Club, the group celebrated another successful Pork & Corn Feed fundraiser. The event racked up impressive statistics: 2,564 tickets collected at the door, 3,200 pork chops and 370 dozen ears of corn served. The club discussed ways to make next year’s fundraiser even more successful.
Early this morning, Alexandria Rotarian Joe Haack and his son, Alex (pictured), installed flags along Broadway to celebrate the annual Alexandria Rotary and Alexandria Fire Department Pork Chop and Corn Jubilee.

Cost: $8 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under
What You Get: A meal that includes a pork chop, corn, cole slaw, dinner roll and a beverage.
Around 2,800 (a record) were served corn on the cob and pork chops at the Alexandria Fire Hall by Alexandria Rotarians and Alexandria Firemen. Check out this video recap of the August 19th, 2009.
From 11 am to 7 pm, enjoy a pork chop (seasoned and grilled by the Pork Producers Association), all the corn on the cob you can eat, bread, cole slaw and a can of soda pop for $8. Tough to beat!
